More About Us

The Group

The 6th Eastcote Scarf

We are an independent group, which means we aren’t associated with any other organisations (churches, schools etc.). We are a single sex group, only taking boys into our sections, although we do have female leaders and helpers. The group was started in the spring of 1950 by existing members of the 4th Eastcote and was therefore able to start with a full complement of sections. First meetings were held out of doors and in the now demolished Haydon Hall. Early in the fifties a HQ. was built in Oak Grove and remains there today.

We have 3 sections

We do our utmost to admit everyone who wishes to join our group although in certain circumstances we may not be able to offer a vacancy due to the number of members to adults ratio. We already have a waiting list for the beaver colony and cub pack, which is common throughout the district.

Our GSL

This is Martin Stanworth (below), the Group Scout Leader. it is his job to ensure the smooth running of the Group, which means all of the Beavers through to the Scouts and leaders. He is at present, the oldest and longest serving member of the 6th Eastcote (and it shows)

The Executive Committee

As with every Scout Group, we have our own committee of parents and friends of the group, who are responsible for the fund-raising, maintenance of the HQ, Leader recruitment and many other exciting and fun things.

We are always looking for forward thinking, keen people to join our committee if you think you could offer the 6th Eastcote Scouts your services please contact us
